Crianças de Campo Maior limpam Barragem do Caia

As crianças que estão a participar nos Clubes de Verão, promovidos pelo Município de Campo Maior, têm realizado diversas atividades, sendo que, na sexta-feira passada, 4 de agosto, estiveram a colaborar numa ação de limpeza na Barragem do Caia.

Esta atividade, que surgiu no âmbito do Projeto Guardiões, teve como objetivo sensibilizar os mais novos para manterem as ruas, e neste caso a Barragem do Caia, sem lixo.

Para Inês Cândido, da equipa de comunicação do Projeto Guardiões, procura-se que as crianças “levem a mensagem também para casa”, para consciencializar os pais, levando-os a “fazer reciclagem ou deixar de deitar lixo ao chão”. “Queremos que os pais deem também o exemplo aos filhos”, acrescenta.

Apesar destas ações, ao início, não serem vistas com bons olhos pelos mais novos, no fim “acabam sempre por ficar surpreendidos”.  “Eles vêm ter connosco porque não imaginavam que as coisas estavam assim”, garante Inês Cândido.

A palavra-chave destas iniciativas é sensibilização, adianta a responsável, que recorda também alguns dos objetivos deste projeto: “além das visitas às escolas e da sensibilização que fazemos, temos depois esta vertente também com as autarquias e associações, que se queiram juntar a nós; e temos as conferências que acabam sempre por ter temas relacionados com a crise climática, feitas sempre em pontos estratégicos”.

Também a responsável pelos Clubes de Verão, Ana Diabinho, considera estas iniciativas positivas, tanto para as crianças, como para os pais: “eu acho que às vezes os adultos não pensam nestas gerações vindouras e temos de atuar agora”.

Para a técnica superior de Ambiente no Município de Campo Maior, Paula Caldeira, é bastante importante desenvolver este tipo de atividades com os mais novos: “fazem muita falta, porque acabamos por conseguir sensibilizá-los a eles e aos adultos, para a importância de não deixar o lixo nestes espaços naturais”.

A participar nesta atividade estiveram cerca de 20 crianças que, de uma forma geral, consideram este tipo de iniciativas muito importante. “Se estragarmos a terra, não podemos viver com saúde”; “deixar lixo no chão faz mal e depois costuma ir para os rios e os peixes pensam que é comida e depois vão morrer”; “aqui há peixes e se o plástico for para ali ou o cartão eles podem pensar que é comida e faz-lhes mal”, dizem algumas destas crianças.
